Sarah + Cody met the modern way with a swipe right in November 2015 when dating apps were just finding their footing. What began as a simple match quickly became something lasting.

Their early years were filled with music, dancing, Blazers games, and many nights at 4638. That love grew into their first apartment together in SE Portland. They later moved downtown as Sarah returned to school to complete her BFA. Their dream apartment there was always filled with dogs, friends, and bright energy, even though they knew their time in PDX was coming to an end.

They said goodbye to Portland in Summer 2022, the city where they met and built the foundation of their relationship and moved to New York City. Experiencing the city together brought them closer than ever. Long walks through Central Park, unforgettable meals, and discovering each neighborhood.

When it was time to think long term, they moved home to reset before finding themselves in Austin, Texas. Austin became forever special as the place where they got engaged and rescued their dog, Zinnia. Cody planned an intimate proposal at Flat Creek Winery, with their dog by their side, filled with love, tears, and wine.

Now, nearly a decade after that first swipe, they are planning a wedding that reflects who they are. A meaningful ceremony with close family and friends, followed by celebrations in Mexico that allow everyone they love to share quality time with them. As they look ahead, their next chapter brings them to Chicago to hopefully put down roots. Of course, if their story has taught them anything, it’s that home has always been less about the city and more about choosing each other.
